Hurricane Hideout

We had a very pleasant sail down the Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts coasts as hurricane Dorian was coming up the coast to meet us. New Bedford, MA is known for its heavy set of hurricane gates that it closes in bad weather to protect the fleet in the harbour so we grabbed a mooring ball in New Bedford for a couple of weeks.

Dorian brought some wind, but not even enough for them to close the gates.

We joked with each other that it was a disappointment to have no wind after all the preparation we had done, but that’s the kind of disappointment we are okay with.
